This court has jurisdiction to deal with criminal offences under the Criminal Code of Canada as well as offences under federal legislation (ex: The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) and provincial legislation (ex: The Highway Traffic Act). Some Provincial Courts in rural Manitoba also act as family courts and grant orders under The Family Maintenance Act of Manitoba.
