The Federal Court of Canada, Trial Division, deals with matters of federal jurisdiction such as immigration and citizenship matters, copyright and trademarks and matters regulated by federal legislation, such as matters under the Indian Act and the Income Tax Act. Decisions of this court can be appealed to the Federal Court of Appeal in Ottawa and ultimately to the Supreme Court of Canada.
